The year 2008 will bring some new changes in the training. We consider these positive changes and hope to continue improving in these areas.

Training schedule

Monday & Wednesday (this is to be considered the main classes)

Thursday is reserved for Advanced Taijutsu, Black Belt Shinken Gata and weapons training.

The minimum attendance for ALL students is one day a week, if a Black Belt student misses Monday & Wednesday, they will not be permitted to attend the Thursday training for that week.

Furthermore, if you miss an entire week of training without informing me, this is grounds for dismissal (medical emergencies excluded).

Training Times

The regular practice we've been following for awhile now is to show up 6:45 pm for individual warm-up, and bowing in at 7:00 pm and running until 8:45 pm depending on the training pace.

I haven't always been on-time, however I will be from now on and expect students to do the same. We'll bow in at 7:00 pm sharp, if you are late you'll need to sit in seiza until the Sensei acknowledges you (this is a common Martial Arts custom and applies to training in Japan as well).

Shodans who show up early should assist new students on the basics. I may at some point assign certain new students to a Shodan as part of the Nidan advancement.
