Is there any weapons training
Yes, weapons and Advanced Taijutsu are taught in the Shinken Gata class. A special training where the Shidoshi shares his advanced techinques.
There are many weapons of study, the basics ones include Bojutsu ( stick fighting ) and Kenjutsu ( sword/blade ). Others include rope, chain, spear and many more.
Do you do any sparring
No, in Bujinkan Martial Arts, there's no sparring, only realistic training and self defense skills. We also have no use for sparring pads and consider any Bujinkan Dojo that uses this type of sport apparatus as a lower level training taught by inexperienced practitioners. Since our primary focus is on both safety and realistic training, there's no need for any special safety gear.
Is there any additional gear that I would need to purchase when I start training
Initially, you wouldn't have to purchase any gear, that is unless you really wanted to. A black training uniform would be useful, but not required, as for weapons, you can do this later on. The uniform is recommended, black Gi with a white belt or any comfortable clothing. We'll be setting up some resources for students to purchase the necessary items in the near future.
How many classes should I be attending every week
