Training
No, in Bujinkan Martial Arts, there's no sparring, only realistic training and self defense skills. We also have no use for sparring pads and consider any Bujinkan Dojo that uses this type of sport apparatus as a lower level training taught by inexperienced practitioners. Since our primary focus is on both safety and realistic training, there's no need for any special safety gear.
Initially, you wouldn't have to purchase any gear, that is unless you really wanted to. A black training uniform would be useful, but not required, as for weapons, you can do this later on. The uniform is recommended, black Gi with a white belt or any comfortable clothing. We'll be setting up some resources for students to purchase the necessary items in the near future.
The recommended and preferred training schedule is as follows:
Beginner Practitioner - 1 day per week (Monday)
Intermediate Practitioner - 2 days per week (Monday & Wednesday)
Advanced Practitioner - 3 days per week (Monday, Wednesday & Thursday)
If you are a college student and/or Military we recommend you consider first what your time availabity is. Ask yourselfl these important questions.
1. Can I commit at least one day a week consistently uninterrupted ?
2. Are there any future obstacles that might prevent me from training ?

Our Training Hotline is (858) 233-9391, if you need to contact us by phone.
Regular classes held every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6:45 pm to 8:45 pm.
There are no free classes at this time, unless a student wishes to volunteer to be an Uke for the Shidoshi or some other equal exchange. Membership supports our Training Mission and it also lets us know who really appreciates the training. The Grandmaster doesn't teach for free and neither do we.
Due to the nature of the training and the times we live in, observing classes is reserved for friends and family of Buyu Members. If you are thinking about visiting, consider attending a class instead so you can learn more about the training through participation.
Training is held in the Miramar / Mira Mesa area. Actual training location and directions will be providing upon receipt of your tuition registration along with additional information to help you prepare for training.
The investment is very affordable for most students and averages out to around $3-$5 per class. Each training intensive consists of two classes. The training you'll receive throughout the month is well worth the tuition. We will provide you with more details after we receive your member Application.
The first step is to submit an online Member Enrollment Application, this lets us know who you are and what your training interests are.
Words Of Wisdom
Without complete and total immersion in all aspects of the Martial Arts, today's Warrior cannot hope to progress any further than mere technical proficiency
